We didn’t know any contractors so we relied on reviews and we like to work with local entrepreneurs when possible. We always chose people who we feel, based on first impression, take pride in their job, know what they are doing and seem reliable. James and his team really met our expectations, and not only that; they went above and beyond to squeeze us in and finish the project during a very challenging time period. We appreciated that we were given good options and thought through solutions to choose from as well as information on the way. (as opposed to a simple ”one size fits all” solution). The result is great; we are already thinking about next projects for our home and will probably reach out again soon!

We had extensive termite damage where we needed to replace basically half of our home. They repaired/replaced from the roof to supports for the floor joists (and everything in between). Roof, sheeting, rafters, studs, drywall, subfloor, floor joists, siding, hot water heater reinstall, electrical, plumbing, kitchen cabinets taken down and reinstalled, tile, deck repair, exterior and interior painting....they did an amazing job. We plan on using them again when we continue work on the part of the house we haven't replaced yet.

My husband and I recently bought a house that needed floor repairs. We started our hunt for a contractor, not knowing exactly how bad the damage was. It turned out that our big project was actually an enormous one! ALL of the floor joists were rotted and cracked. Every single joist got replaced and two layers of new sub-floor was put down across the entire 4,000 sq. ft. All of our concerns with the floors and also the need to keep water out from under the house in the future were addressed. On top of that, there were plumbing repairs, a new deck built for our A/C units, new vents cut in the brick and lots of clean up under the house from previous workers. James’ attention to all the little details is so refreshing. His coordination of this extremely complicated project was done very efficiently. He always responded very quickly to answer any questions and give updates on what was being done. We will be using James’ service as a contractor for many future projects. The professionalism of Distinctive Renovations cannot be beat!!

"Had the opportunity to work with James and his crew during the unprecedented freeze in February. A neighbor recommended Distinctive Renovations and I was delighted that they responded so quickly and began to repair my frozen pipes, removed debris from a ceiling that collapsed being mindful of our health and safety. We contacted James after talking to a few contractors that didn't give us the right vibe, and he made us feel truly comfortable during the initial meeting. James impressed us with his professionalism and we selected his team to remodel our master bathroom and update our kitchen. They were able to work with our schedule and overhauled the kitchen while we were out of town, keeping us updated and also meeting the tight time frame so we wouldn't have to find a hotel or make other arrangements when we got home. The bathroom was completely gutted and he and his crew helped us design and budget the custom bathroom of our dreams. This company has an eye for detail and treated the project as if they were fixing up their own house - the little things were handled with as much care as the big things. James was communicative and talked us through our concerns that came up throughout this big project.

I highly recommend James and his team. We met and discussed renovation plans and was presented with a detailed quote and detailed payment plan. I never had an issue getting in touch with him regarding questions I had, it was always a fast response to questions. We were always kept in the loop as to the schedule of the day and who was showing up and what they would be working on that day. Great communication and dependable company. "My house had a pipe burst in the ceiling of my home when the freeze came through Texas and flooded my entire home. James and his company came in and looked at the damage and informed me of what needed to be done to bring the house back to living standards. He worked with me and informed me of how to handle the insurance company to insure the property damage got taken care of. His company fixed all drywall, flooring, cabinets, redid a whole bathroom from wall to ceiling, fireplace, blinds, baseboards, ceiling fans, and all countertops. His work was AMAZING!!!!
